Yet another Blog post
While i made this blog to promote some way or another the KOF series lately i pretty much took a break from playing the older titles and XII only left me with a bad taste in my mouth...

The King of Fighters XIII dumped!
6:04 AM
BlackNoah
A few days ago some friend told me the game got dumped but i wasn't able to test it because my good computer is still in repairs. Some see it as a bad situation for Playmore...personally i see it as a good thing as i said a few posts ago. This means Playmore has some good pressure to deliver a good online (i care so much about this because this is the only way i can enjoy it, locally i have no one to play because of SSF4), and also i can jump right in the game when the console port comes out because i have plenty of time to practice on the hack.If the online is the same unplayable thing as in XII i will play the hack and buy the game used when is dirt cheap just not to support Playmore.Atlus hope you are listening. For those interested in the dump do a search on demonoid.me

KOF XIII and things to come
1:19 AM
BlackNoah
As you all know by now yesterday KOF XIII was listed on amazon and later on we had confirmation from both Atlus and Playmore that finally the game is being ported. While we still have almost 5..maybe 6 months to wait this is great news and the end of people going crazy and rumors flying left and right about KOF XIII not being ported and so on.The most important thing announced about the game is that it will have improved online which is a must in expanding the life of a game these days.I don't care that much about new teams and such but a good online because personally i don't have anyone here that i can play at a decent level ... so the only option i have to improve and have fun with this game is online.I hope Atlus listens and will not disappoint us with this aspect. If they cannot provide a good online they should at least go with ggpo netcode which is decent and 100% better that the online we had for XII.I am sure that a lot of people are willing to wait for reviews about the online before buying the game - if the online will suck a lot of them will wait for a price drop or buy it used. And keep in mind that most of the profits come from the casual gamers, gamers which listen to reviewers and put a very high price for the online. The game looks beautiful and has a lot of potential in sales but if not marketed right and delivering a poor online this will be another XII but this time at least playable, complete move sets and not a demo.I strongly hope Atlus and Playmore will market this game as it should and give us the rebirth we had been waiting for...for so long.

KOF XIII TBA @ E3 2011?
5:47 AM
BlackNoah
After the Frionel interview i think everybody is waiting for the official announcement regarding the console release for XIII - which he hinted as "soon".While Playmore will not be the ones publishing the game the announcement will surely come from the actual publisher which i think will be Atlus or Ignition ...or maybe Sega(?).All three companies will be attending E3 this year and are marked as First Look Exhibitors on the official E3 site.As far as i remember KOF XII was also announced at E3 2009 and a launch trailer was posted 1 or 2 weeks in advance so i wouldn't be surprised if in the following weeks one for XIII will pop up on youtube :)Monday, April 18, 2011
Battle Fantasia hacked - KOF XIII next?
1:28 PM
BlackNoah
A new Taito Type X2 game has been dumped and hacked for pc.While the title hacked isnt't so popular Playmore can get screwed if KOF XIII gets dump before the release date. Many players will (finally) have access to it and might think twice before preordering untill they get confirmation that the net play is decent. If the netplay will be like XII KOF XIII will be just another failure in sales and most of us will be playing it on pc waiting for the price for the console version to drop for an eventual purchase. If it happens it will for sure put extra pressure on playmore to give us a good net code this time :)

King Of Fighters XIII - console release soon (?)
3:11 PM

Not much news recently about KOF XIII console release until today:
Gunsmith @ Orochinagi has translated a recent interview with Frionel in which he gives some info about the upcoming console release of KOF XIII.It seems that Playmore will have an official announcement soon so keep an eye out :)
You can read the interview here
Later edit: For various reasons Orochinagi took down the interview - here is a saved copy :)
"KOF 13 was released last summer in Japan, where version 1.0 was at Tougeki, and then 1.1 was released to fix bugs. There weren’t any balance changes, just bug and infinite combo removal. There was a rumour that Raiden would be weaker in 1.1 but this was not the case. Now everyone is playing 1.1, even in the US. The question is, will it be released on console? For all the other KOFs it was announced quickly but for XIII, we heard nothing. The reason why we didn’t get an announcement is because today SNKP have a strategy of “all or nothing”. When they were working on XII, which wasn’t finished, they released it because there were commercial issues at stake with another game company resurrecting a huge fighting game saga (which I forget the name of
).
KOF 12 was an extremely ambitious project by SNKP, where they decided to use 2D and offer a rich and interest fighting experience, while staying in traditional 2D with a quality of pixel art never seen before. And it’s a very risky proeject because of the cost of developing an animated frame by frame, pixel by pixel game. It is far more expensive than developing a 3D game, where you create models and just add textures. The challenge was simple: keep KOF in 2D but attract a new audience and a new youth which would lead to the “re-birth” of KOF.
Today SNKPlaymore has a simple strategy. Their goal is not to replace SFIV or other big titles like that. They have their own niche market, and within that niche, their own niche of fans. They want to focus on these fighting games players; focus on the hardcore. In Japan, when you tell people you play KOF, you might as well tell them you’re mentally disturbed. SNKP want to keep that type of niche fanbase while attracting more of the mainstream without trying to dethrone SFIV because they know KOF just won’t appeal to that mass audience.
The problem was that if Capcom released a new version of SFIV when XIII was released on console, SNK would be left headbutting the wall – SF wouldn’t give KOF a chance – Capcom is a marketing steamroller. There isn’t one fighting game that can rival SFIV in terms of sales. It’s just impossible. Everyone can take advantage of the sales of SFIV for the fighting scene in general but they can’t compete with it. So the plan for SNKP was to make sure the release of XIII didn’t coincide with any other fighting game release. Because of that, SNKP wouldn’t say anything at all before Capcom announced SFIVAE – which they have now done, so now it is safe for SNKP to announce XIII. I believe it will be released before the end of 2011. Anytime from Summer onwards. I believe it will contain extra features that are not present in the arcade and there will not be any balance changes. I believe there will be exclusive content such as characters, stages, music, things like that.
And there is very good news regarding the netplay. For those who already played it in arcade, they know there is a ‘reduce lag’ option*. I have heard this will be present in the console version. The feedback from testers is that the lag input option is better than SFIV’s. SNKP understands that the game’s success may well depend on the netcode. So yes, KOF XIII is arrriving and official news will be coming very very soon, now that the threat of SFIV interfering has passed. At this time of year, nothing can get in the way, so keep checking the usual sites and you will get info.
One last thing, I play KOF 13 in Paris Arcades and it seems the game is the most played there. Why? Because it is magic. It’s hard to define with words but SFIV players are jealous when they see us playing this game."

BOYCOTT PLAYMORE!!
4:26 AM
BlackNoah

Recently there have been news regarding Masaaki Kukineo's departure from SNKP so it might influence/delay the console port for KOFXIII.Not only that but it seems that the new director wants to close down the game section and try to milk the old SNK titles and franchises for a quick buck. Here is my problem... SNK delivered some good and not so good titles but there was always an effort in bringing quality and something new esspecialy to the fighting genere. This assholes from playmore do shit and espect a profit from garbage ( notably KOF XII), compilations of old games or updated rereleases like the UM series.
I an growing tired of this fiasco!Kof 2002 um will soon have a Final version that making 3 reiterations of the same game! with very to little modifications mostly in damage and hitbox. This is bullshit!I always laughed when capcom was doing this shit with SF2 series but playmore..really do you think we are that stupid?SNK "educated" me as a consumer to ask for quality for my games. Not necesarly flashy graphics or other mombo jambo rehash of the same game.KOF series needs a new face over to be in line with the standards today and KOF XIII did from my point of view a great job with that...combining the old mechanics and adding new variety in the game ...but there is one big problem - it's only available in arcades and as we all know arcades are dead almost everywhere!
The last news we heard for the console port was last year when they announce it for the first Q of 2011..but after that no news or release day as of today(we deserve a console release ASAP after paying 60$ for a goddamn demo)! I was thinking that playmore are a bit confused because MVC3 and Mortal Kombat 9 are also games to be released in the 1st Q and because of the failed KOF XII the consumer will not pay full price for XIII ...which for the most part is true and i can understand this delay but playmore (i refuse from now on to ad SNK in front of you because you have demonstrated you are just a leech and not a succesor) is it that hard to announce a release date? oh wait...i don't think you have a publisher! who the hell will publish another kof game after XII!!! and most certainly not you because you don't have the money!! Personally i am thinking to bootleg 13 if a console port is not announced soon (which i doubt it will) and i advise everyone to stop supporting this leech and buy their games from now on from resellers or used copies.Boycott playmore if you don't want to buy the same games over and over again!
